Wellness Wednesday: Juice til’ dinner cleanse

jUICE ‘TIL DINNER

A great option for a first-time cleanser! With this option, you will drink four organic juices throughout the day and follow them with a light, clean dinner. Do multiple days for added benefit!

Now listen, I know, I know, you’re probably thinking, B, what is a one day juice cleanse going to do? While I understand your concern, just hear me out. I wanted to do this one day juice cleanse, a) because I have been saying for months that I would, b) my Blendtec died and lord knows I don’t get enough fruits and veggies c) the one day cleanse is a good start for beginners/newbies like me.

For months I have been driving past the new Clean Juice, on my way to pick-up my groceries. So today, I finally decided to go in, and fulfill my commitment to myself to do a juice cleanse. I was greeted by an eclectic gentleman, whose name I can’t remember. Let’s call him Phil, Phil gave me the rundown on exactly what I should do for my one day juice until dinner style cleanse.  Phil provided me with pamphlets on the benefits of juicing and small meal ideas once the cleanse was over. Basically, he told me to make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day and I could eat almonds if I was super hungry.  Neither of which I was successful at doing.

My Juice to Dinner cleanse it consisted of the following (4) juices :
  • Sweet Green Juice
Health Claim: huge vitamin boost, sharp brain, glowing skin and regulates PH.

Sweet Green is a great option for someone who wants a green juice but needs it to be sweet. We, of course, stuff it with all the greens but add the apple for a natural fruit sweetener. This is the first juice in the Cleanse.
INGREDIENTS:
  • Orange Juice
Health Claim: Cold & Flu protection, happy digestive track, joint & bone relief, and reduced inflammation

Orange is a great option for you and your kiddos! The prominent flavor is orange, but the pineapple, turmeric, and carrot provides your immune system with a boost from the turmeric. This is the 2nd juice in the Cleanse.

INGREDIENTS:
  • Yellow Juice
Health Claims: Intense detox, increase metabolism, lower blood pressure,  and healthy cell function.

Kind of like a grown-up version of lemonade, the yellow has lemons, filtered water, and cayenne pepper for that extra spice. The Yellow is the 3rd juice in the Cleanse.

  • Red Juice
Health Claims: Improve blood flow, improve stamina (for workouts), and lower blood pressure.

If you love beets, the red will be your jam! Drink this pre or post-workout for recovery! The Red is the 4th juice in the Cleanse.

INGREDIENTS:

Of all the Juices I drank, the sweet green was my least favorite. The cucumber taste was just a bit too overpowering for me. The sweet green juice also made me feel a little queasy, perhaps I should have followed it up with a water. Fast forward to the third juice, and I hit my max hunger stage. I would suggest to anyone doing any type of juice cleansing, be sure to keep your regular routine, and don't lounge like I did. I felt so sluggish. Stay away from TV too, lol, I think I saw the more pizza and burger commercials than ever.

All In All, I will definitely do this cleanse again, maybe I'll try my own recipes? Let me know if you'd be down to see that.

One last note... I also decided to be fancy and pick up a charcoal lemonade juice (pictured to the left) which was pretty delicious.

Until next time...check out my juice cleanse video below. xoxo B
