Before we dive into today’s topic of BAES, let’s rewind to the beginning of 2018. Last year, 2018, was the first time I decided to use power words to set goals, and mantra for the year to come. Having three words to focus on helped to keep focus all year long. I was not only able to accomplish goals and live my best life but using power words also gave the year a sense of purpose.

The year 2018 was the year of F3, Faith, Freedom, and Fitness.

Faith
I wanted to grow my relationship with God, and lean-in to having more faith in the unknown yet knowing that all things will work out for the greater good. And with that thought brought me freedom.

Freedom
The unlimited mindset brought so much joy and freedom. Another element of freedom was being able to enjoy what I use to perceive as loneliness and adjusted my mindset to enjoy this time to reflect and make myself better.

Fitness
Last but not least brings us to fitness. While doing eating Keto (low carb, high healthy fats) helped me to drop 10 pounds in two months and keep it off thus far. I'm going to keep it 100 with y'all and say that I have slacked off, on Keto and my fitness BUT being fit is still a focus in my lifestyle.

Now, I know you’re here for an explanation on “Year of BAES”, so I’ll get to it. YES, I am claiming a Bae for 2019, which is a blog for another day. But BAES also has a deeper meaning. We are three weeks into 2019, and my new mantra for 2019 is as follows:

Believe. Achieve. Encouarge. Surrender.

Believe
I will believe that God has great plans for me beyond my wildest imagination. Ironically yesterday, my belief was put to the test. For the past few days I have been having chest pains and just two days before that my left arm started hurting. So I ended up in the doctors office hooked up to an EKG. For now, I can say that the chest pains were not associated with a heart attack but the blood test results have not yet come back. So I am leaning and believing that the results will come back negative. Should the results come back positive I will do everything I can to get better!

Achieve
I will set to continue to Achieve in all aspects of life. Because let’s be real, you have to put action behind words to make things happen.

Encourage
Encourage, I want to encourage anyone that I encounter to find joy in all experiences, and I want to be a blessing to someone everyday.

Surrender
The biggest power word of them all is Surrender. I will surrender all up to God. Letting go of worry, anxiety and the notions of I should be doing or be xyz. I am where I should be, and I will strive to become a better person than I was yesterday.

Year of BAES is underway. Leave a comment below and share what your goals are for 2019. Let's get it! xoxo B
