5 Self-care tips:
- Take at least 5 minutes to sit alone in silence. No phone, social media or other life distractions. If you feel that you never have a minute to yourself, make time! Take five minutes from your lunch break, or head to the bathroom during nap time. Making me-time where ever and whenever you can, can be the huge difference to help you recover faster from that mini mental meltdown. Often times as women we want to be everything to everybody, and forget about ourselves. Girlfriend, you can’t be everything if you aren’t around to do it. TAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF. five minutes isn’t a lot to ask.
- Visit your healthcare professional annually- Knowing your numbers (Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Glucose, weight, height, and body mass index). While knowing these numbers don’t cure your ailments, the results of these measurements can be indicators of current or possible future health risks.
- Spend time with uplifting friends and family: Making time to spend with uplifting people can uplift you.
- . Know that Comparison is the thief of Joy
- . Be honest with yourself! I always say, shoot if you lie to yourself who won’t you lie to. Keep it real and honest with yourself, if you know you aren’t going to workout today, be real. If you find yourself trying to be everything to everyone, admit that to yourself. In the recent years, being more honest with myself has allowed me to be more open with others. A little vulnerability never hurt anybody, especially being vulnerable with yourself. If you don’t know you, how can other people?
