It is very apparent that textured hair is a big money maker! Finally companies are paying attention to textured, coily, kinky, curly haired folks and realizing our hair needs love too. Hey our green ($$$) spends just like everyone else.
While perusing the aisles of my local Sally beauty, I supply stumbled upon the aPHogee Curlific! hair products. I didn't buy them at first sight, however I went home and looked for some youtube reviews. To my dismay there weren't many videos and/or blog reviews out there, so I decided to take the plunge as I was in need of some new shampoo and conditioner. (I'm a recovering product junkie)
I really enjoyed using these products, and I would definitely repurchase. As I said in my demo-view video, I only purchased 3 out of 4 products (Textured Hair Wash, Texture Treatment and Moisture Rich Leave-In) . I typically do not use products that "enhance" so I decided to leave the curl definer in the store.
Price: $9.49 USD each (at Sally Beauty Supply; $8.49USD if you are beauty club member)
I also found the products for cheaper ($7.99USD) at my local beauty supply. The only downside of your local beauty supply is that they typically do not have a return policy on products in which you are not satisfied.
Fragrance: All of the products I purchased have the same smell/fragrance however the potency of each is different. The Texture Wash & Moisture Rich leave-in have a faint but refreshing berry (Blueberry, Cranberry & Mango) fragrance, however the Texture treatment is quite fragrant next to the other two products. At first sniff the fragrance smelled like Pier 1 Imports, which I adored.
Size: Texture Wash: 12 FL oz/ 355mL
Moisture Rich Leave-in & Texture Treatment: 8 FL oz/237 mL

Texture Wash (sulfate-free cleanser/shampoo):
The ApHogee Curlific Textured Hair Wash cleanses delicate textures gently, with this sulphate and paraben free formula. Color safe and enriched with keratin and quinoa protein, Curlific Textured Hair Wash protects and helps detangle even the most unruly hair. Wavy, curly or coily, it helps your locks resist the urge to frizz or droop in even the most humid conditions.
My usage and final thoughts: I used this cleanser as instructed, and I found that a little bit goes along way. Typically when I shampoo, I only lather once, so that I do not have any issues with the squeaky clean or overtly dry shampoo feeling. I did the same with this shampoo and my hair behaved and felt clean without the dry or hard feeling. I did notice, the shampoo instructs to rinse with cool water, however the texture treatment states "shampoo with texture wash, rinse with warm water then apply texture treatment"...hmm Which type of water should one use? I tried both ways and I didn't notice much of a difference. This is a creamy cleanser, and this does contain protein, so I would alternate this shampoo with a protein free shampoo, if your protein sensitive.

- Restores elasticity
- Helps eliminate hair loss
- Helps eliminate hair breaks and split ends
ApHogee Curlific Texture Treatment restores elasticity and life to dry, damaged curls, coils and waves. Weekly use of Curlific! Texture Treatment maintains beautiful hair, regardless of the environment or styling regimen. Also works for color treated curls.
My usage and final thoughts: I followed up the texture was with the texture treatment. I used the texture treatment as a deep conditioner, and I left on my hair for roughly 30-45 minutes under a plastic bag. The product does not require heat, however if you want to use with heat to speed up the penetration process I think that will be just fine. Highly recommend- for a mild protein conditioner.
Ingredients:
Water (Aqua, Eau), Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Behenamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Glycerin, Panthenol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Hydrolyzed Quinoa, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol, Mauritia Flexuosa Fruit Oil, Sodium PCA, Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil, Dimethicone, Amodimethicone, Lactic Acid, Polyester-11, PVP, Isostearamidopropyl Morpholine Lactate, Aminopropyl Dimethicone, Cetrimonium Chloride, Trideceth-10, Silicone Quaternium-22, Laureth-23, Laureth-4, Keratin Amino Acids, Trimethylsiloxyamodimethicone, C11-15 Pareth-7, C12-16 Pareth-9, Trideceth-12, Citric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Fragrance (Parfum)
Moisture Rich Leave-in :
ApHogee Curlific Moisture Rich Leave-In enhaces the looks and feel of your hair and helps eliminate styling challenges. Snarls and tangles are a challenge on any head, but textured hair can be the toughest! The oval shape of curly strands can "interlock" like no other and are also more prone to dryness. Curlific! Moisture Rich Leave-In solves both problems.
My usage and final thoughts: I tried this product as a leave-in conditioner, but I didn't find the formula was quite thick enough for my hair. I will continue to use this product when I need a moisture refresher as an alternative to tepid water. This leave-in allows for my twist-out or braid-outs to remain elongated, whereas a water only spritz may cause shrinkage.
